The weather may still be struggling to make up its mind as to whether it’s actually summer or not (FYI it is), but so you’re ready for when summer time hits good and proper we have picked our top five summer-leg-saviours from lasting glows to wash-off bronze tones.

1) FROM NO TO GLOW IN SECONDS – Model Co, One Night Tan Jet Set
2) ONE-MINUTE WONDER – Lancaster, Fast Dry Bronze Water Spray
3) ONE-NIGHT TANNED – L’Oreal, Sublime Bronze One Day Body
4) A WEEK IN COLOUR – Sunbelievable, Tan Me, Medium
5) TWO WEEKS IN 20 MINUTES – Clarins, Delicious Self Tanning Cream,

Anyone who has ever coveted the Angelina or Scarlett look knows that the lips maketh the woman. So the question is how to get the juicy pout that has managed to seduce Brad Pitt and Ryan Reynolds without intrusive surgery or a bee-sting. The answer – Lip plumpers. Sold at your humble chemist these bottles containing what can only be described as a magic potion are guaranteed to transform your lips (and your attitude). Try DuWops lip venom (£15) or plumping lip gloss by Champneys (£8), and feel the power of the pout.

Get ready to assess your wardrobe (and personality) as you decide whether to sit pretty this summer or ride the neon wave. Either way we guarantee a heavyweight battle.

Case in point: false eyelashes. Nothing new – we’ve been giving our lashes a helping hand for centuries, however we may have just found the holy grail of lash appendage in the form of these delicately extravagant falsies from Paperself. Inspired by the Chinese art of paper cutting, these decadent eyelashes can be worn as a full strip or, use the smaller individual paper designs (we particularly like the horses) to adorn the outer corners of your eyelid for a playfully coquettish look. To apply, simply press them on lightly with a thin veil of lash glue.

Good for sweaty feet, amazing for pre-pubescent bra fillings, and now its managed to find another purpose…the hair bun. Yep that’s right, the once torturous activity of perfecting a ballerina bun has now become a quick fix solution to the bad hair day, an instant remedy to the thin haired victim and the saviour for the late to work. Clap your hands and say a big thank you to our favourite multi-task accessory.

Simple steps for the perfect buns:

Find a sock that has become a lone ranger since the trip to the washing machine

Trim the ends off, and start rolling it- a perfect donut should be starting to form.

Put hair in mid to high pony, and secure with hair tie.

Pull pony tail through donut

Tease hair and wrap around donut- secure all flyways with bobby pins

Make all the girls at work jealous with your perfectly formed ballerina bun

For all of you unfamiliar, a chemical peel is exactly as it sounds – a chemical applied to the face to make the first few layers peel off to reveal a youthful albeit taught and slightly pained appearance. For those who don’t want to spend a few weeks looking like a Hammer Horror extra may we suggest some less aggressive facials that will leave you looking fresh rather then fried.

1) Vitamin C Facial- One of the more helpful members of the antioxidant family, Vitamin c plays a vital role in diminishing the effects of ultra violet light damage accumulated with every passing summer. Book into the Cowshed Spa for their vitamin c facial and leave looking radiant, luminous and even a bit firmer.

2) Jurlique Herbal Revitalise Facial- One of the more high performance facials to boost radiance and although that’s what we like to hear what we really like about this treatment is being enveloped and pampered in the five star treatment room at The Agua Spa, Sanderson Hotel.

3) Bespoke facials- Book into the Away Spa at the W hotel and have a one-on-one consultation with your beautician leaving your skin dilemmas with the professionals.

The dip-dye. Yes, this may have been the term given to our two-toned hair for years (less fashion hair more major root-regrowth) but this season the beauty industry’s apparent obsession with My Little Pony candy-dipped hair ends is back on, with the dip-dye showing no signs of fading away.

Seen on the models walking Miuccia Prada’s AW12 show at Milan Fashion Week, where tawny crowns gave way to whitened ends as well as on the new breed of Hollywood elite – think Kate Bosworth’s mermaid tips last year and more recently Chloe Moretz faded pink ends, this trend translates as easily from the catwalk to the high street. Before you start precariously dipping your tresses in bleach, try Kevin Murphy’s colour bug, £12.95, which comes in purple, pink and orange so you can dabble in dip-dye without the long-term commitment. Just apply some product to pre-styled hair (to make the colour stick) then work the bug through the ends for vibrant, yet temporary candy hair.

Here at Blink we couldn’t contain our excitement when we discovered the colour trend had spread past our clothes and inked our eyes.

Follow the lead of New York Fashion Queens Jason Wu, Prabal Gurung and Derek Lam and line your lids with bright greens and purples. If you’re more of a Balenciaga or Giambattista lady not to worry, reinvigorate the old smoky eye and switch your black liner to a white shadow and watch your eyes pop.

To make the most of this trend invest in one (or all) of Mac’s fun new eyeshadow compacts which are just as cute as they sound – colour added, call me bubbles and shop till you drop compacts are all the help you need to turn over a new, colourful leaf this spring.

Okay we all knew something was stirring when Queen Bee Beyonce named her first born Blue, and right we were. Suddenly eye lids all over were transformed during Spring/Summer London Fashion week 2011 sporting shades of the once forgotten colour. A rainbow of blue shades were on show during spring/summer fashion week, Louise Gray models updated the cat eye with a slick of blue liner, Pringle of Scotland and Michael van der Ham went for the subtle approach with a light working of blue inners of the eyes. Whatever the application, the message was delivered loud and clear: blue is the new black.

Fast forward to Autumn/Winter and the blues have spread. We fell in love with the teal nails seen on models at Holly Fulton’s LFW show and Erdem’s dark and sexy Navy Ombre nail concoction, and the piece de resistance, Katie Perry’s Smurf inspired hairdo unveiled at Paris Fashion Week. Indulge this trend and prove once and for all that blue no longer belongs to the boys.

Now that you’ve gotten your brows manicured and your lashes curled let’s discuss how to draw even more attention to this all-important area. Now normally we would recommend a fringe, but let’s be honest, the glory of the fringe lasts about the same time as an un-shellaced manicure. So for you savvy people out there who want to have your cake and eat it too, let us introduce you to the winge, otherwise known as the Wig Fringe. Our friend Daniel Hersheson creator of other such micro hair trends as the dip dye and the 20 minute blow dry has created what is tipped to be a girl’s best friend. Simply clip it on and voila, a winge is born.
